Forest Row (Impromptu Run)

Sunday 19th April 2026

With a last‑minute notification going out, this Sunday ride saw a smaller group than usual, with five members able to join. Even so, the forecast promised clear skies and mild temperatures - too good to waste - so an impromptu route was quickly agreed.

The group set off heading northeast, taking an enjoyable run through Caterham before dropping down into Lingfield. Traffic was light, the roads were dry and the pace stayed relaxed, giving everyone a chance to enjoy the scenery and the early spring sunshine. From Lingfield, the ride continued in to East Grinstead and on towards Forest Row, where the group stopped at Java & Jazz for refreshments. The café lived up to expectations: friendly staff, quick service and a great selection of food and drinks. It proved an ideal spot for a mid‑ride break, with a welcoming atmosphere, although with limited parking space even for bikes as it was a popular destination.

After the stop, a few members needed to return home for afternoon commitments, so the group split and made their way back via different routes. Despite the short notice and modest turnout, the ride turned into a thoroughly enjoyable outing—proof that even the most spontaneous plans can deliver a great day out on the bikes.
