A Perfect Finish to the Summer evening Ride‑Outs

The weather finally broke, but the rain and thunder held off long enough to give us a glorious evening run. Remarkably, this marks the first year we’ve managed all four Thursday evening rides without a single cancellation due to the weather—a record worth celebrating!

The route was a satisfying mix of A‑roads and winding backroads, offering just the right balance of pace and scenery. We finished up at the Surrey Oaks in Newdigate, where several other members had made their own way to join us. It proved an excellent choice: a welcoming pub with friendly staff and a fine selection of drinks to round off the evening.

A big thank‑you goes to Nick, who not only planned all the routes but also led most of the rides. His efforts ensured every outing ran smoothly and gave us another memorable summer of Thursday evenings together.
